How are you giving clients access to specific CMS collections only?
Has anyone found a good way to give clients access only to specific CMS Collections in Webflow?
For example, I’d like clients to edit things like:
- Testimonials
- Events
- Blog posts
- Team members
…but without giving them access to the rest of the site structure/design.
The goal is mainly to prevent accidental changes to:
- Homepage layouts
- Service pages
- Images/design system
- SEO settings
- UX copy
I contacted Webflow support and the response I got was that this level of permission control is apparently only possible on the Enterprise plan with the “Content Editor” role.
That feels a bit extreme for smaller studios/agencies managing client sites.
Curious to hear how others are handling this:
- Are you using Editor mode only?
- Training clients?
- Duplicating collections/workflows?
- Any workaround or best practice?
Would love to hear real-world experiences from agencies/freelancers managing client CMS access.
