Now, hear me outt!!!

Now, there's a shit ton of similarities between the two and a SHIT ton of differences.

​

But the similarities are uncanny!

​

1. Both were raised in environments devoid of love or care.

Neoptolemus is debatable(sure), but he literally grew up in a war where literally EVERYONE around him... Possibly ain't give a FUCK about him and only what he could do and what he was capable of.

Homelander(TV Series) was raised in a lab where genuinely nobody cared about him and only saw him as a product and what he COULD do for THEM!

Both were raised by adults who genuinely had no love or care for either of them. And they were both eventually manipulated into becoming who they are most known as being: Raping and Murdering pieces of shit nobody likes.

2. Both are children of people that were looked highly upon.

Neoptolemus being the son of Achilles made him be considered highly among the other Achaeans especially Odysseus who saw how great his father was and wanted to make another Achilles.

Homelander from the show was the biological son of Soldier Boy who was considered the greatest supe in The Boys before his removal. Homelander was essentially Vought's ticket to a better and more beloved supe.

Both these two were to live up and surpass the standards of their fathers and successfully did so in the eyes of most. They truly were raised in an environment where they were only seen as their fathers son and nothing more than weapons and product.

3. Both became worse than their predecessors.

Neoptolemus is infinitely worse than Achilles in every way in my eyes and majority of people's eyes. Achilles AT LEAST had some redeeming qualities, but as far as I know Neoptolemus was just an absolute prick. Achilles willingly gave Hector's body back, he mourned the loss of his closest friend. Neoptolemus on the other hand killed somebody's infant son and took the mother as a slave(there's also a myth where he beat Priam with Astyanax's corpse but that's just... No).

Homelander is absolutely more of a piece of shit than Soldier Boy. Where Soldier Boy was abusive, racist, and misogynistic(he could've been a pedo but Jensen Ackles said no) Homelander was a rapist, manchild, forced people to eat their friends, was content with letting hundreds of people die and using that to his advantage.

Both of them became just as if not worse than their fathers who have at least mixed feelings, some people hate them and some people love them but all can't excuse their actions. Neoptolemus and Homelander on the other hand are more negatively received because the extreme length of their heinous actions and heinous choices.

4. They're Content with Child Murder/Abuse

Neoptolemus is... Obvious, he intentionally killed Astyanax and didn't give a fuck that he did. And then he proceeded to take the mother as his sex slave, never once giving a fuck throughout the whole thing.

Homelander on the other hand was hating on Madelyn's son simply for getting her attention and was without a doubt probably would have let the kid die if he had the opportunity to. Not just that, the girl in the Flight 13 video and BEATING his own SON to nearly half death! He also threatened to put a scientist's family(and most likely kids) in an oven with him and... Yeah I'd believe it.

Both of these mother fuckers have no love or care in their hearts for children. Neoptolemus shrugged off the death of hundreds of children including an infant and went about his day like his shit don't stink. Homelander let kids die and be orphaned and was like: "Damn oh well, that's sad... I mean Ryan was my son, BUT I'M A GOD!!!"

There's also the minor similarities:

- Both had their names changed and are most well known for the change. Pyrrhus -> Neoptolemus , John -> Homelander.

- Both were in High Positions of power. Homelander was leader of the Seven and overthrew the President. Neoptolemus was one of the best Achaean warriors and later became a King.

- Both believed themselves to be above Gods. Homelander literally thought he was God and Neoptolemus wanted Apollo to atone for his father's death(he was not built like that).

And yes I'm aware of the HUNDREDS of differences: Neoptolemus being fueled by Glory and Homelander being fueled by Attention, etc.

Argue with me if you chose, but the similarities are SO uncanny it'd be a crime not to point them out.
