In praise of the lowest tier keyboards
One of the best typists to ever live, Sean Wrona, set some of his best times and won races with the humble Logitech K270. For a mere $9-12, one can pick up the Logitech K120 to get a wired version of this absolutely legendary and record setting keyboard.
Now, I will say that I love a good mechanical keyboard. I understand the value in a premium, customized, typing experience and I’m aware that a mushy membrane board is not for everyone. But the K120 is an incredible value. You can’t even pick up a set of budget switches for this cheap. Sometimes I spend the day on red linears, some days on tactile banana switches, or the laptop scissor switches. But every time I pull the K120 back out I’m impressed with the membrane keys. I love them. I type just as fast on them. Sometimes I’m more accurate with them, it seems.
