Carrying an AED
I’d like to buy an AED and carry it home on a long-haul flight. The device itself I can put in my checked bag, the battery in my carry-on. Will this cause any problems?
Battery is listed as 9V/4.2Ah, so it’s 37Wh. Smaller than my laptop. The lithium manganese dioxide chemistry is also meant to be safer than lithium ion, but that of course requires consideration rather than knee-jerk reactions.
I’ve emailed my airline, Hainan, but unsurprisingly have not received a response.
I’d like to minimise the risk of an expensive device being denied when I go on the plane. So asking if anyone has thoughts on the probability of that happening.
