Need help, peribulbar anesthesia. Don't know what to do!
Surgery on Wednesday. I'm monocular, high myopic, Surgery on my good eye that has a pretty routine cataract. Near target. Possible complications....my over the moon anxiety, Possible sluggish pupils...dialation problem, use of ORA to fit Toric IOL lens. On top of all this, I have hearing problems, surgeon is aware. In preoperative appt she said twilight sleep with topical anesthesia would be OK, but if I wanted a block, ok. My choice. Especially given monocular anxiety. I found out today that the surgery center only offers peribulbar blocks, I am guessing along with twilight sleep and numbing drops. I had come to terms using the Sub Tenons block but this is a game changer (?) I can not decide what to do....topical vs peribulber block.
Thank you!
