Hi everyone, I’m hoping to get some insight or hear from people with similar experiences.
I had LIS for a chronic anal fissure back in Nov 2025, and things had been going pretty well since then. Pain was mostly gone and no major issues.
Recently, right before my period, I had a pretty long bowel movement. The stool itself wasn’t hard (I take Miralax daily), and it was soft, just somewhat firm (a bit bigger than my index finger) and long. It felt like it caused some irritation, almost like too much friction rather than straining. Then this morning, during a BM, I had bright red blood that was dripping (like a couple drops per second while passing stool). It stopped right after the BM.
What’s confusing me is:
- The bleeding looked like a lot (more than I’ve ever seen before)
- But the pain is much less compared to before LIS
Has anyone had something similar happen after LIS?
Did it turn out to be a re-tear, hemorrhoid, or something else?
Trying not to panic, but the amount of blood definitely freaked me out.
