Eileen Prince and Tobias Snape
At the end of HBP, Hermione tells Harry that while looking for article about R.A.B., she came across two articles regarding Eileen. One announcing her marriage to Tobias Snape and another one announcing the birth of her child (Severus). Here are the exact lines:
“I was going through the rest of the old Prophets and there was a tiny announcement about Eileen Prince marrying a man called Tobias Snape, and then later an announcement saying that she’d given birth to a —” “— murderer,” spat Harry. “Well . . . yes,” said Hermione. “So . . . I was sort of right. Snape must have been proud of being ‘half a Prince,’ you see? Tobias Snape was a Muggle from what it said in the Prophet.”
My question is, why would there be an article about Eileen Prince (who was not a significant witch, as much as we are aware) marrying someone? And even mentioning his name and also the fact that he is a Muggle? And then why announce the birth of their child too? It's not like they were some influential family that everyone needed to know their business. Would there be articles about every single witch or wizard's most ordinary and non-important actions in the Prophet? I know she mentions the announcements are tiny, but why are they there at all?
(I know why Rowling added this. I'm looking for in-world explanations.)
