Visa troubles

Guys im an international student going to Ireland for an exchange semester. But because I have a weak passport, I can't travel to other schengan countries without getting a visa... I now kinda regret applying to Ireland and feel like I should have applied to a schengan country instead... what do yall think?

Exchange at UCD from Sept till Dec 2026

Hiii everyone! I'm coming to UCD for exchange from sept to dec 2026. And I had a few questions:

  1. What is the weather like? And what to pack for this weather? Are there any brands that you would recommend for jackets and warm clothes?
  2. How easy is it to meet people and make friends as an exchange student?
  3. How is the social scene in UCD and in Dublin? Also, how accessible is Dublin city center from the UCD campus?
  4. Any other tips or advice?

Thank you very much and would appreciate any advice :)

Exchange at UCD from Sept till Dec 2026

Hiii everyone! I'm coming to UCD for exchange (currently studying in Singapore) from sept to dec 2026. And I had a few questions:

  1. What is the weather like? And what to pack for this weather? Are there any brands that you would recommend for jackets and warm clothes?

  2. What modules to take in UCD (I can only take modules form Quinn School of Business). Looking for something easy.

  3. How easy is it to meet people and make friends as an exchange student?

  4. I have an Indian passport, and so any tips on which countries I can travel to? And how long does it take to get a schegan visa if I apply from Ireland?

  5. How is the social scene in UCD and in Dublin? Also, how accessible is Dublin city center from the UCD campus?

  6. Any other tips or advice?

Thank you very much and would appreciate any advice :)
