Software Engineering vs. Assistant Superintendent of Customs in Sri Lanka: Stability over Tech?
Hey everyone,
With the ongoing global tech trends, constant layoffs, and market instability, working in tech is feeling a bit shaky lately. While the field offers good salary potential and global mobility, the lack of absolute job security is making people think about long-term stability.
Because of this, I'm trying to figure out if it's a good idea to try to get into Sri Lanka Customs as an Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC). On one hand, it's a top-tier government Executive role with unmatched job security, prestige, and financial perks like the reward fund. On the other hand, it's a completely different lifestyle from the tech industry.
If you are currently in Sri Lanka Customs or Tech Industry, I would highly appreciate your inside advice on this.
What do you think about trying this move? Any comments or advice would be highly appreciated
