I'm trying to help a friend set up a new laptop desk for her bed, as she has recently become limited in her mobility. This desk is on wheels, and we're trying to figure out if it would be alright to plug the monitor or laptop, or both into this desk (see photo). We were hoping to plug the desk into a power strip, so I was unsure if this "chain" would be electrically safe, or if the desk would need to be plugged into the wall to use the outlets on the side of the desk. Her bedroom only has two wall outlets so we are attempting to be conservative and strategic with their use.
