The Fee(dB)ack name sucks
Addressing the Slopsmith rename:
Am i the only one who thinks the name FeedBack sucks? Obviously it needs a better name than slopsmith, but feedback only won the renaming vote because the other 3 were complete shit. like “Clonesmith” and other reused bs. Believe me I understand the intended references in the name, but those references are so weak. what does “sound feedback” or “dB” actually have to do with a guitar rhythm game other than being generally associated with music. It doesn’t convey what the project is at all. It Ironically makes Rocksmith sound so clever in comparison. FeedBack sounds like an EQ plugin, not a full open source instrument visualizing game. As someone who’s contributed quite a bit to the project, I’m really hoping the community rethinks this before moving too far forward. Not only do I think the name will hold back its initial appeal to new users, but it also just isn’t as cool sounding to me as some people are claiming. Thanks for listening to my rant.
It sucks because “RythmForge” was right there. Which pays homage to the community based CustomsForge and actually conveys what the project is. “Fee(dB)ack” is cool but could apply to any music related branding or product.
