I bought a fleet car several years ago. it originally came with a scent like they had sprayed something to cover the smell of cigarettes. I’m super sensitive to smells especially air freshener scents, they give me headaches. Anyway over the years you would think it would fade but it hasn’t…or maybe there’s a new smell happening? A few years back after having my car serviced I noticed some paperwork in my dash had smelled like a bad cologne. I removed it thinking that was that. But over the last year or so I just notice a scent EVERY TIME I get in my car. I hate it. I went into my dash looking to see if there’s some mystery air freshener that was in there. when I removed my other paperwork I realized the smell was stronger. I had tried airing it out with windows down for days now. I pulled the dashboard completely out and aired it out some more. ITS STILL THERE! I’m assuming at this point it must just be absorbed into the whole car but it’s particularly strong coming from that area. I’ve tried looking to see if there’s an air freshener buried or if I’m just SOL. I guess next step is to get an enzyme spray and replace the cabin filter. Any other things I haven’t thought of or possibility of an old air freshener stuck up there where I just can’t see it??
