A lifelong aviation enthusiast, I was always interested in Speedmaster for its space heritage but felt that the moonwatch is missing something that would push me to pull the trigger. When Fratello published the leaked Speedmaster Pilot for military aircrew I was hooked.

As I’m reaching a milestone in my finance work that involves aviation, I decided to celebrate it with the watch recently and it’s been truly a joy to wear and has been putting my 226570 Explorer II on a secondary part of my watch rotation.

I have zero issues with the thickness and actually consider the watch and bracelet light compared to the Rolex. It wears really well and comfortable.

The jumping hour feature is very handy as I travel constantly for work. The lume is excellent in the dark and legibility is just awesome. Having the date feature is also useful. Really happy with this piece, truly a beautiful aviation inspired watch. A perfect first Omega for me.
