Anyone else with a velcro kid?

My 7 (8 in July) year old daughter CANNOT be alone. Ever. If she is going pee, if she is having a snack, getting dressed, etc. Going to the bathroom - she has to have the door open with one of us standing in the hallway. She always says she's scared to be alone - if I try to kick her out of my bedroom so I can change clothes, she begs to be allowed to stay and just face the wall. If she's in the living room and I try to go to the bathroom, she follows and stands outside the door.

She goes through phases where it's better or worse but over the past six months it's just gotten worse and worse.

She's on meds and in therapy and we're trying to build independence, shit's just rough right now haha. I just wonder how many other people go through this.
