I (32f) have a small business. I'm the only one who runs and works.

Id like to think I have a nice amount of clientele and in happy.

However today my aunt and uncle came to visit. It's a statutory holiday and I'm CLOSED and not talking to clients or taking new ones.

I'm in my PJs, hair wild and in clearly just relaxing and enjoying my day off

I only take appointments online. It's easier for me and Streamlines the process

Anyways

We are all just talking and suddenly I hear a door bell.

We are not expecting company.

My mom goes downstairs and apparently an old lady appeared. I have no idea who she is.

She wanted to make an appointment. Apparently someone gave her my exact unit number to my house.

She wanted to make an appointment because she doesn't know how to use computers and fancy phones very well.

My mom comes upstairs and explains the situation.

I said politely " I'm in my PJs. I'm not taking any appointments today."

Then she complains

"Put something on! Put a robe! You can't ignore her. We need the money!"

I said no again. This is my day off.

Then she looks at my aunt and says "tell her to go talk to her!"

Then my aunt bandwagons and tells me how "unprofessional I look and to just talk." And "how it's an old lady and this isn't a good look for me"

I said no.

I said "I'm sorry it's a sweet lady, but I'm not comfortable going to talk right now I was caught OFF guard. "

Then my uncle says "wow. You're gonna lose a client. "

I say "and? I'm sorry to say it so blunt but I don't want to accept random people coming to my door on a stat, and I'm here still in PJs and clearly not in the mood to make appointments ."

Apparently IM the asshole.

But. I'd like to know what you think.

My mom got her phone number and I said "why couldn't this have happened first?"

I'll call her tomorrow'. But still.

UPDATE: I told my mom that what she and my uncle and aunt did was wrong and I do not appreciate being bullied on my day off.

I also said I'd like the number to the lady so that I CAN call her.

She said "she will call me to make an appointment."

HELL. NO.

I stopped her right there

I said "that is NOT your job. Please give me the number so that I CAN LOOK at my schedules."

She said "oh ok. When she calls I'll just let her know to look online or get her son to book."

I said ok.

Hey guys, I am so excited to share with y'all that I booked my first commercial. Obviously I can't say anything about it, but I do have a general question.

To those non-union and my Union actors., who have worked on commercials.

Do you find working as a non-union on commercials better than being a union member or vice versa?

What are the pros and cons?

Another silly side question but is it just like working as a background performer?
