Contract Work

Not to sound like Scar Face, but a 3rd party has made me an offer that I can’t refuse.

I’m very happy at my current company, but I’ve been offered a ~40% increase in pay to come back as a contractor.

Anybody in the same boat? How is it going?

I understand that I’ll be the first person cut and that there’s no guarantees.

Edit:
I’ve previously turned down an offer with this company, primarily due to lack of benefits and additional incentives at my current company.

This agency must have gotten a different RTX contract, because now they are now offering full benefits, including PTO and holidays (I don’t know about 401k, but I will be a W2 employee so hopefully).

I initially was politely turning down the offer when the guy straight up asked me “How much would we need to pay you to accept?”, so I told him an absurd number along with full benefits and he agreed.

The position is for a P2 level and I’ll just say I’m out of the pay band by quite a large margin, like more than a P5 that I used to work with (who was a superstar).
