The net cost of Gluten Free food is tax deductible? (USA)

Has anyone filed for GF as a medical expense? According to celiac.org, the net cost of GF food can be claimed as a medical expense for tax purposes. That seems like a lot of work. Has anyone done this?

Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1tqo4e0/fsahsa_for_gf/ someone posted this topic in more detail here. Specifically about using a FSA to pay the difference in costs for GF food. It seems to be a mixed bag whether it works or not or is worth the effort.

Neurological manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment of celiac disease: A comprehensive review

This was a good read to help me better understand some of the neurological side effects I have from Celiac Disease. Sharing in case others find it interesting. For example, I've noticed I can touch really hot water which will turn my fingers red but it doesn't always feel very hot to me. I didn't realize that's potentially from Celiac's.

Would love to learn more if others have resources they'd like to share!

Perfect wraps for kids eczema

I don't know who needs to hear this but our allergist recommended these Tubifast wraps and they have been amazing. Size needed varies, red is great for small kids. Vanicream or Vaseline with this wrap has helped with our kids itching (in addition to figuring out the dietary source causing the flares). Regardless, 10/10 recommend these wraps. They provide a bit of pressure that helps relieve the itch and wetting them before putting them on, helps retain moisture in the area. I linked the ones we've been using.

Edit: We haven't tried other brands but I assume they'd likely have the same effect. Just sharing our positive experience combining a tube wrap + ointment + water.

Should I drink my aged Pu-Erh Tea Cake

A decade ago, my roommate's girlfriend gifted me a Pu-Erh tea cake. She told me if I let it age, it would be better. It has been a decade now and I think I'm finally ready to open it. Is there a reason to let it keep aging? I was gifted this tea in 2016.

Can anyone tell me if this is the ripe version?

Thank you!

Gluten free cheese cake

I'm new to having Celiac's. I'm so sensitive to cross contamination that it's hard for me to find processed foods that won't make me sick. Even GF labeled foods sometimes makes me sick. I have, however, discovered this cheesecake recipe which sent me to the moon with joy!! Wanted to share.

I followed a rhubarb strawberry compote recipe, then added that into the cheesecake mixture (recipe in image, subtract the lemon) after everything was poured, before going into the oven. This cheesecake brought me so much joy!

I can't find anything online to substantiate this. I have been feeling the opposite of awake when I drink home made drip coffee. I've been experimenting over the past few months and I think the Publix Brand Coffee Filters I've been using may have gluten in them or are cross contaminated. I've noticed I'm fine with the same coffee grounds in a French press, Store bought cold brew, etc so I don't think it's the coffee.

Just curious if anyone else has had issues with coffee filters?
