Am I wrong for telling my mother i thought what she and my brother did was kind of evil and disgusting?
My mother 50f and brother 26m randomly woke me 19f up from my sleep to send me money, when i asked why my brother told me that a random lady on cash app sent him 560 dollars by accident and now wants it back he refused and wanted me to zelle it back to him since he lost his cash app card and wouldn’t be able to spend the money he was sent.
I started to argue that him keeping the money was bad and could be the ladies last bit of money for things like rent or groceries etc and he said that he spun a wheel and if it landed on yes he would keep it and if no he would send it back and apparently it landed on yes, he said this all while laughing and bragging about it and my mother hopped in and started telling him to pay his portion of rent early and asking for him to buy her some gifts since she didn’t get anything for mother’s day from him while he was talking about spending money on more mtg cards when he doesn’t need more, eventually he just took my phone from me and did the transfer himself even though i tried to stop him.
After he walked away to do whatever with the money i stood in my mothers room with a heavy feeling in my gut when i told my mother that what just happened was evil and it made me sick to my stomach that they could be that greedy to take another’s money and not look back when it wasn’t meant for you she started to try and defend herself but i then told her that the money could have been the last of the ladies money or needed for something when she just stopped and agreed with this sad look on her face.
i don’t understand why they’re money hungry as we don’t really struggle, the two of them are just really inefficient with their money and constantly buy things they don’t need then complain about bills they knew about long ago, i can’t look at them the same without seeing what they just did without a care about anyone else but themselves. I just know if they accidentally sent money to someone and the person didn’t send it back they’d scream about the greed of the other person and curse up a storm.
Please tell me if I’m wrong for saying that and feeling disgusting in my family.
