HOW TO GET GPA!!!!!!!

Detailed Tips Regarding GPA

A lot of freshers don't really understand how GPA works at first, so here's a simple breakdown from my experience.

1- Credit hours matter ALOT

You'll have multiple subjects in one semester, but every subject doesn't have the same weightage.

Some are 3 credit hours, some 2 and some 1.

The more credit hours a subject has, the more it affects your overall GPA.

So if you're short on time, prioritise your 3-credit-hour subjects instead of spending 5 hours perfecting a 1-credit-hour course 😭

Usually, 3 and 2 credit hour subjects have around 2 classes per week, while 1-credit-hour subjects generally have 1.

2- Your marks come from multiple things

Usually your course grade is divided between:

Midterm — 25%

Final — 45%

Assignments — 10%

Quizzes

Presentation / Project

The exact distribution can vary by course, so always check your course outline.

Basically, don't ignore anything, but finals have the biggest single weightage.

3- Assignments = FREE MARKS 😭

You'll usually have around 4–5 assignments per subject throughout the semester.

These are probably the easiest marks to secure, so don't submit some half-assed assignment 2 minutes before the deadline 💀

Do them properly and take those marks.

4- Quizzes

Quizzes are basically checking whether you've actually understood what was taught.

You'll probably have multiple quizzes throughout the semester, around 4–5 depending on the course.

Don't take them lightly just because they're small marks. Collectively they matter ALOT.

5- Presentations

Usually group-based and honestly can be kinda fun 😂

They're also part of your grade, so don't disappear when your group starts preparing 💀

6- Projects

Projects are also generally group-based and usually you may have one major project in a course.

They carry marks, so choose your group wisely 😭

7- MIDTERMS

Mids usually come after around 2 months.

A lot of students don't take them seriously because “finals abhi door hain” 💀

But bro... 25% is 25%.

Don't ignore them.

8- FINALS — 45% 😭

This is the BIG one.

45% is a huge chunk of your grade, so performing well in finals can seriously improve your overall GPA.

But don't make the mistake of ignoring everything throughout the semester and thinking you'll save yourself in finals 😭

9- Labs

Don't completely ignore labs obviously, but if you're struggling to manage your time, prioritise your theory courses and higher-credit-hour subjects.

A 3-credit-hour theory course can affect your GPA much more than a 1-credit-hour lab.

Finally...

Don't study only before mids/finals.

Do a little throughout the semester, collect your assignment + quiz + presentation marks, prepare properly for mids and then build towards finals.

GPA isn't about getting 100% in one thing.

It's about collecting marks from EVERYWHERE. 🫡

And remember: credit hours > number of courses. A 3-credit-hour course deserves more attention than a 1-credit-hour course when you're managing limited time.

GIRLS ( DONT MISS )

Some tips for girls coming to uni!

Okay girls,

.......These are just some honest tips based on things I've learned from my female friends and my sister. Hopefully kuch kaam aa jaye.

1- Safety first, always.

The university area is generally safe and there are security personnel around, but still don't take your safety lightly. Especially if you're travelling back home late at night.......keep your location shared with someone you trust.....

2- Keep something for your safety.

Carry some legal personal-safety item that you're comfortable with and know how to use. Jese ky pepper spray wageea Especially when travelling alone at night.

3- Carry extra sanitary pads

Keep 2–3 in your bag. You never know when you might need them Sometimes you might not be able to get them from the MI room or nearby shop, so better to have them with you.

4- Focus on your studies

Uni mein unnecessary personal dushmani banaane ka literally koi faida nahi 💀 You don't have to be friends with everyone, but you also don't need enemies.

5- Be a little careful about who you trust.

You'll meet ALOT of new people. Be friendly, make good friends, but don't start sharing your whole personal life with someone you met 2 days ago 😭

Private matters, passwords, money etc. apne tak hi rakho.

6- Save emergency contacts 📱

Keep your parents/family, roommate, hostel management and important university contacts saved. Kabhi bhi zarurat par sakti hai.

7 Keep some cash + a power bank 🔋💸

Don't completely depend on online payments. Keep some emergency cash with you and PLEASE keep a charged power bank in your bag. Phone dead at the wrong time is the worst

And lastly...

Enjoy your university life

Make good friends, explore, study hard and make some memories. Bas apni boundaries aur safety ka khayal rakhna.

Good luck girls 🌷

OG JUNIORS OF BATCH 26-30 🌷

So guys… an emotional story this time 🥹❤️

A junior DM’ed me today, and honestly, I thought they probably needed some help related to the university because I've been pretty active replying to freshers' queries these days.

They just said Hi, how are you?

I replieddd “I'm fine, wby?

And then they literally sent me a whole paragraph thanking me for all the help, guidance and answers I've been giving to the upcoming freshers.

I genuinely wasn't expecting that.

Jaza dene ki zaat Allah ki hai, but honestly, that message was so sweet and it really made my day.

Sometimes you don't even realise how much a small effort of yours can help someone else.

May Allah bless you and all the students who are working hard to build a bright future for themselves.

Good luck to everyone. Keep going. ❤️🤲

ORIENTATION GUIDE FOR FRESHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seeing alot of juniors asking the same questions about orientation, so thought I'd just put everything here 😭

1- “How will we enter uni? We don't have a student card yet”

Dont worry

You'll get an email around 3–4 days before orientation.

You have to bring that email with you on orientation day. That email will basically be your entry proof.

2- “Can we bring guests?”

Yes, but you'll have to mention the names of the guests you're bringing in the same email.

So dont randomly show up with 7 cousins and expect security to let everyone in 😭💀

3- “What about regular classes? We still won't have a student card.”

For the days after orientation, until you get your student card, print your semester fee receipt and keep it with you.

You'll use it for entry if needed.

Your student card is usually given around 1.5 months after classes start, so dont panic if you don't get it immediately.

4- “What actually happens on orientation day?”

Honestly...

A LOT of yapping 😭

There will be speeches from the Chancellor, faculty, teachers etc.

You'll probably get some light refreshments like cake + chai ☕

After that, you'll be moved towards your classrooms where you'll get to know your section, timetable and classmates.

Basically you'll spend the day thinking:

"Damn... so THIS is my university now."

5- “Can we change our section?”

First semester? No. 😭

It's basically impossible unless you have some serious sifarish.

From the next semester, section changes can be possible depending on the circumstances and university rules.

That's pretty much it.

If I missed anything or you guys have any other questions, DM me. I'll try to help. 🫡
