Chances of pursuing PhD and foreign settlement

Dear vedic astrologers,

Greetings.

I'm reaching out to verdict astrology family for guidance regarding my career. Please tell me if I have chance to pursue PhD in abroad as I have rahu in second house - is it going to help me? or do I have to pursue PhD in India only?

Additionally, do I have chance for government job in india?

Thanks and warm regards. 🙏🏻

Hi everyone,

I need your help, support and guidance. I want to start my career in academia. I am looking for a research assistant, academic associate, teaching assistant or teaching associate position in India. I have a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in journalism and mass communication (85 percent), along with a few research publications and presentations at international conferences and industry experience. I am seeking guidance on how to get these early research career positions in India.

Please help me 🙏🏻

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,

I usually don’t write much on Reddit, but I’m posting this to seek some guidance. I’ve asked a few people about this already, but I’m still trying to understand what really went wrong.

I applied for PhD programs in Australia, including ANU and UQ. For UQ, my application actually went quite far as I had supervisor support, reached the final assessment stage, and was even asked to submit Genuine Student documents. So I genuinely felt things were moving in the right direction. But in the end, I didn’t get the scholarship. My ANU application was also unsuccessful.

I’m honestly quite confused and disheartened. It feels like I was close, but not close enough, and I don’t fully understand what was missing.

Now I’m trying to figure out what I should improve before applying again. I have good gpa (8.4) in masters with a few publications and conference presentations. A few years of industry experience.... My subject is Journalism and Mass Communication.

Some things I’m really trying to understand:

  1. Is prior hands-on research experience crucial for Australian PhD admissions and scholarships?

  2. How do people build that, especially coming from India where many research roles require UGC NET?

  3. Has anyone else reached the final stage with supervisor support but still been rejected? What did you change afterward?

I would really appreciate any insights or experiences. Just trying to make sense of this and move forward in a better way.

Thank you.
