I see Louis missing Lestat, missing his spontaneity and reciprocal love. All he has with Armand is lip service and spite. He never intended to forgive Armand for setting up Claudia to be killed. I think between the resets Armand created in Louis’ mind, Louis would have left him much much sooner than that last witnessed suicide attempt. I hate to say it but Armand saved his life because he might have accomplished it without his intervention.
Lestat would have been there for him if only Armand had a spine. Soulless, spineless, rotten boy who I hope gains some bit of all that he is missing from his future companions.
In the end I believe Armand finally finds real love, and he deserves it by then.
The men are here. Had to repost as not all the shots loaded.
I’d watch a reality show with these two, who am I kidding. I’d watch most anything with my favorite vamps.
The way Louis bops his head from side to side (48 sec) while Lestat is serenading the fans💜❤️💜❤️ https://youtube.com/shorts/RNUISDMeI0k?is=9gsxdeejOafc_WQo
I think the loneliness is exacerbated by taking a life. They see the other’s life, pieces of it and then they snuff it out. With each life they take the less human they become.
Anne Rice cast herself as Louis and her husband Stan as Lestat. He, as an atheist helped her to see another way other than Catholicism. Religious fellowship is often some folks only form of community outside of the family.
Turning your back on your community for love. A love like most includes instability, growth and questioning.
I wonder if Alex is centering Larry’s suicide squarely on Lestat. Alex, who was birthed by Gabs should know how to read others. We know she’s a terrible mother, so I’m just hoping. Also, I wonder how Alex’s addictions will play out now that his cravings may have changed. I see a short vampire life. When sober he was vegan, and he did not choose the gift while sober.
I just love Jacob and Sam’s chemistry.
I just can’t see the good in him. I think it stems from his god complex and how he ran his coven. I read the books decades ago and walked away with the same distaste.
Similar to Louis’ fault of the fires and destruction in Storyville?
Also, Lestat wanted to walk away from the concert after the shooting but got egged on by his mother. He’s going through multiple mental breakdowns all while suffering attacks to his character. It’s a lot.
Louis’ issues with his family, and the trouble in paradise with Ms Brown, blindside Louis. Not to mention his own transformational trauma. Especially as he’s not eating properly and just explodes.
Lestat was right. If, from that point on, Louis could find a way to retaliate against the constant constrictions of institutionalized racism, he would have perhaps felt better. He’d be able to eat well, and serve the people.
I just had some thoughts I had to put down. Plus the Amel slip in New York…
