Fun game: What do you think Lestat has Louis saved as? 🤳

Fun game: What do you think Lestat has Louis saved as? 🤳

I want to believe that Lestat has him saved as “Mon Cher” or “Saint Louis” but he might just be “Louis ❤️“ when he is feeling more in love with or “Louis 👿” when he is angry with him.

Thoughts?

Did Louis make Lestat come off way worse? I think so.

We've seen just a bit of the real Lestat so far and perhaps it's too early to tell and I know why Louis described him the way he did in the interview/book. It's obvious because he believed Lestat was responsible for Claudia's death, the trial, and everything that followed.

Up until now we've mostly seen Lestat through other people's eyes. Now that we're getting closer to seeing the real him, he comes across as more dramatic, impulsive, and emotionally messy than outright cruel. If you only look at scenes in Episodes 5, 6 and 7 in season 1 or the train scene with Claudia, you'd think he's a sociopath.

Even in that huge fight with Louis in Episode 5, he literally says he doesn't want to fight. I'm not excusing what he did afterward, but my point is that most of Lestat's worst actions seem to be reactions to something that happened before. Unfortunately, his inability to control his emotions and being very easily provoked puts him in bad situations.

Noah Reid is so talented- curious how they’ll feature him

Noah really has range and I often, in a good way, don’t recognize him instantly in a role. Like he is so good and weird in outer range- so different than his role in schitts creek. Anyway, just excited to see him in this show, especially acting with Sam Reid!

What are your top three favorite moments from S3 Ep. 1?

As an avid fan of the books, I am greatly appreciating the more vulnerable and more comedic portrayal of Lestat already compared to Louis POV of Lestat, even in ways that are unique to the show's adaptation. Mine (in no order of importance):

  1. Lestat was ready with Halloween candy for the kids, and even had full sized bars for some. He gets an A for effort, and a C in execution (because of the menty B that he was having when he flipped out on the poor unsuspecting kids).

  2. Hearing Lestat admit, "I'm vain, I'm shallow, and I fear an empty seat" when Daniel asks why he is playing in small venues instead of attempting to book larger ones.

  3. Combining a few on this one because of their correlation. The on-stage menty B that led to the accidental bender, that led to the puking princess on the bathroom floor, that led to facing Gabrielle while he was incredibly vulnerable. (Candy-flipping Lestat was not on my 2026 bingo card but man, Sam did it well).

A. When he is anxiously searching for a way to fill the vast void of loneliness while wandering between floors, intoxicated and alone. He's desperately clinging to this care-free, armored identity he's created for himself, feeling obligated to embody the lyrics of his own song, "Long Face."

B. His struggle to hide the extent of his loneliness from Gabrielle via text until he hits rock bottom and begs her to come. Only to send another message that roughly says "nevermind, I'm fine" because he expects to be let down."

C. The overwhelming shock he displays when she arrives, so much so that it induces his old stuttering. The transition between surprise, self-consciousness, desperation, longing, and loving expressions Sam demonstrates in this scene is spectacular.

(Hard to choose only three, I know. I couldn't even fit my favorite comedic moments in).

Do you think they aged up Baby Jenks, and by how much? Other predictions for her story in the show?

I mean, my obvious inclination about the age question is YES, for many, many reasons (just one of which is the amount of intimacy shown onscreen. Avoiding the other elephant in the room). But I'm also wondering, since TV actors often look older than their "pretend" age, exactly how old is she supposed to be? How do you think the writers approached this choice when adapting her book arc into the show? Presuming she's coming back at all, these questions are probably all answered in the coming episodes -- but still, I'm curious right off the bat. Also, more generally, how do you predict her story will play out in the show?

Edit: unless I missed something in the first episode about her age...there was a lot of information in a short period of time

Armand fans can we hold hands and cope

I know that Rolin and reviewers keep saying we don't need to worry and that Armand will be active in the story, but I swear I'm shaking in my boots in anticipation for what they are doing with Armand this season !!! I feel like I'm going stir crazy. I'm hopeful because they inserted that monologue in season two which introduces his backstory much earlier, and they overall made Armand a much more involved character in season two which I am grateful for. It also seems they incorporated much of Armand's backstory into little details (like the rent boy jokes and his quasi age regression/bdsm dynamic with louis)

I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that many of the key Armand points like Marius, the coven, devil's minion ect. Probably won't come to fruition this season but I can only hope that they still give him some key moments and development

Apparently the season finale will be key to Armand? It's only rumors though.

Anyone have some hopes/expectations for where they will take Armand's storyline?

From “Detroit”

I think this is Akasha’s hand from Lestat’s montage when he was on stage having a moment. I flipped it, because it airs upside down. What do you think?

Concept work by @sean_hamilton on Insta

>I've been meaning to post some older concept work for a while now. So in the meantime, this aired Sunday! It's Lestat's rock star tour bus from "The Vampire Lestat" on AMC. I worked on this with the very talented production designer @ andres_cubillan_soto . I got to work on the two floors of the tourbus. The bottom floor was for the humans and groupies. top floor being a upscale private vampire lounge. It went through a lot of revisions and tweaks but I am very happy with how it turned out on camera. It was a true pleasure to work with such a talented team! More to come.. @ amcsannerice @ iwtv_vampirelestat @ amcplus @ dgctalent

Making vampires

I haven't read the book so idk if this is explained. And this might be stupid But I've been thinking and got curious so dont judge me😂

if let's say, a vampire (vampiresA) drained someone and has (for lack of better word. I couldn't think of a better word) a stock of another vampires blood (VampireB) And fed it to the person. Would it work? Would the person turn? If it works, would vampireB still be their maker? Since its their blood?

AND, if that technique works, if you mixed the blood of two vampires, would that work? Who would be the maker? Both of them?

I got my flowers from the Beautiful Unwell charity drive!!

This is one of the actual flowers from the magnolia tree in Louis' and Armand's Dubai apartment, from the absolutely lovely u/perscitia's Beautiful Unwell charity drive! How fucking cool is this??

As I told u/perscitia, I've been going through a really rough time. I've been in tons of pain and in and out of the hospital. (I actually almost missed the premiere due to being in the hospital. Got out the day before, thank god.) This made my YEAR. And it's been a tough one.

Thank yous go again to u/perscitia. What a wonderful way to both raise money for good causes and make IWTV fans' days.

Where is the show available in Canada?

Might be an odd question, but I have Apple TV and I do pay for the AMC+ channel but the third season is not available. In fact it’s asking me to pay for the episodes. Has anyone encountered this?

Any other book readers surprised in how far into the timeline E1 went?

I thought we'd be discussing wolves and guitar solos, not even Akasha yet. Meanwhile we have likely Body Thieving in the first scene and people are bringing Memnoch up. I re read TVL and QOTD but now i feel like I need to be up to date with the whole series, given the direction we're going.
