Caught my roommate doing something i can't unhear. Now i have to pretend i don't know.
Came home early from work last thursday. Door was unlocked which was weird because my roommate always locks it.
Walked in, he's on the couch on a call. Didn't hear me come in. I went straight to my room but the walls are thin and i heard everything.
He was talking to someone about the other guy in our place. Telling them the other guy has been skimming from the house account. The one we all put 200$ into every month for utilities and groceries.
Thing is. My roommate is the one who manages the account.
I've never had access to it.
Neither has the other guy. I sat in my room for 45 minutes not moving. Ended up just killing time on myprize trying to zone out. Couldn't focus on a single game.
At dinner my roommate acted completely normal. Made pasta. Asked me about my day. Laughed at something the other guy said. I watched his face the whole time trying to find something off and there was nothing. Zero.
I still don't know who he was talking to or what he's planning.
The other guy has no idea any of this is happening and i'm sitting here every day watching my roommate act like everything's fine knowing he's building some kind of case against someone using money only he can touch. I'm confused...do i say something? do i just quietly find a new place?
Because right now i'm living with someone who lies effortlessly and smiles while doing it and i genuinely cannot tell if i've always known that about him or if i'm just seeing it now.
