Will getting a single B put me at a disadvantage?

I am a freshman in high school, my school is really competitive, and I have 5 A's and 1 B. I have a B in one of my advanced classes, but I do get an extra point toward my weighted GPA. Everyone around me is always telling me to bring it up to an A, since times are changing, and it's not enough. However, I will take AP Calc BC next year since I am good at math. I try to provide a counterargument, saying my math ability will make up for the B.

Do I need to bring my B up to an A, or do others not know what they are talking about? Thanks for reading this in advance

Am I cooked if I have 1 B

Disclaimer: My intention isn't to brag/flex, this is a genuine question

I am a freshman in high school, my school is really competitive, and I have 5 A's and 1 B. I have a B in one of my advanced classes, but I do get an extra point towards my weighted GPA for it. However, everyone around me is always telling me to bring it up to an A, and when I say it isn't that deep, they respond with "times are changing, it's not enough in the modern world." However, I will take AP Calc BC next year since I am good at math, and there are only 2 others so far in my class of around 750-800 people. When I try to reason with this, it doesn't work.

Do I need to bring my B up to an A, or do others not know what they are talking about? Thanks for reading this in advance
