Did I ever have vaginismus?
I’m 21, and for the past four or five years I’ve thought that I’ve had vaginismus. I had previously only had sex with women until last week, but always experienced intense pain with penetration, even with something like a tampon. However, last week I had sex with a man for the first time, and I was so worried that it was going to not work, but it did. I didn’t have any pain and now I’m questioning whether I ever did have vaginismus. I was doing some at home dilation prior but I really didn’t think I was ready for sex yet, I just got so caught up in the moment that I just wanted to try anyway. I feel like it’s also important to note that I never felt any anxiety around sex with my previous partners either, so I don’t think that it’s just that I felt more comfortable.
