I've been fishing for a while now, but I can't seem to catch anything or at least catch fish often. I use a 190cm bait caster and fish for 30-50cm pike along and 10cm perch in a lake.
Another problem is that I just don't have good gear. The rod and reel that I'm currently using are from Vietnam, they're fine but I would really like to upgrade.
I can go to better spots to go there I would have to cycle around 20-30 mins, I would probably catch bigger fish in these spots.

The attached pictures are of my rod and lures. I'm currently looking at the Curado 201k with the Abu Garcia Veritas LTD 702MH 2.13m 10-45g XF as rod. Does anyone have any tips (or even leftover gear) to improve and catch more? I think I'm doing everything right, but I'd love some help.

Side note: I fish in the Netherlands, fishing season is short due to the temperature here.

Edit: if you recommend me lures or rods, please make sure that I can purchase them from Europe as import is just to expensive at the moment.

i mostly fish for pike in quite murky waters with 7cm+ lures, i chose this reel to last a long time and because of its strong drag. I dont know the exact specs of the rod yet tho. I chose it because im pretty sure it is strong enough to handle the reel, i chose the 2.21m (40-80g) version. The reel should be able to handle thick line which should allow me to use the same line for much longer than usual.

I dont have the money to buy the reel and rod yet but im hoping to save up enough soon, which should be in around 2 months. Fishing season might already be over, or close to over.

Is this a good combo? If i should change anything, or you have questions about anything, please list it below.
