Finally Average
Finally made it to Tekken King, which is average now. I do not lab this game. I never have. The only thing I’ve ever put any type of diligence into learning is my optimal combo routes. Other than that, when I feel like playing Tekken, I just get on, and hop right into online matchups. No warm-up, no nothing.
My goal has always been to see how high I can climb in the ranks without really giving too much of a fuck about the game. I play for fun. When it’s not fun, I get off. I don’t play the standard way. I don’t know frame traps. I just wing it, tbh.
In season 1, I fought 3,325 battles, with a 46.2% win rate, and capped out at Raijin
Season 2, I fought 1,498 battles, and won at a 42.99% clip. I capped out at Kishin.
This season I have 201 battles fought, winning at a 51.24% clip, and this recent promotion is my highest.
I feel like I’ve culled a lot of the bad habits that led to so many losses, the major one being that, due to poor execution, I used to mash a shortcut to execute df1 [2,1] consistently. When in rage, df1 is rage art, so I would accidentally activate rage art and drop a round winning combo, then lose. I still mash the shortcut, but I make sure not to do it in rage. Sometimes I still drop the combo when I’m not mashing it, but at least I’m not screwing myself with a rage art.
TLDR: We’re Tekken King off somewhat matchup knowledge, 1% offline practice, and just grinding it out online, as long as it’s fun.
