Warning to Georgetown Homebuyers: Pulte Inc. Leaves Carlson Place Residents Stranded
As a resident of the Carlson Place community in Georgetown, Texas, I am writing this to warn potential buyers about the severe lack of post-sale accountability from Pulte Inc. Our neighborhood amenity center pool—a core feature we were promised when buying here—must be completely torn out and demolished due to "concrete cancer" (alkali-silica reaction). Because of recent rainfall, the site currently holds stagnant standing water, creating an active health and safety risk for our families.
Pulte’s response to this major structural disaster has been a masterclass in corporate deflection. They claim zero responsibility, shifting the blame entirely onto a defunct, out-of-business concrete subcontractor that they originally selected and employed. By washing their hands of the issue, Pulte is forcing Carlson Place families to pay thousands of dollars in special assessments to fix a structural asset that should have been built correctly from day one.
The consequences of Pulte’s refusal to honor their development are devastating. Financially, it hurts our property values and hurts resale appeal. Emotionally, it deprives our children of their summer. Instead of making memories and enjoying their childhood milestones swimming with friends, our kids are staring at a hazardous construction failure.
Pulte Inc. builds neighborhoods, collects the profits, and abdicates all responsibility when their vetted choices fail. A company is defined by how it handles problems, and Pulte has chosen to completely abandon the homeowners who trusted them. Do your research and think twice before buying a home from a builder that passes its liabilities onto its customers.
