Living in California, we tend to think more about how quickly we can leave—because of fires and earthquakes—rather than how long we can stay put like people dealing with hurricanes or floods. Our mindset is usually: how fast can we get everything into the car, and where are we going next?
I’ve learned a lot from seeing how others prepare, and it’s pushed me to adapt our own setup this year—especially now that our family has grown to include a dog.
