S2000 fan loud for everyone or just me?

So I finally got my S2000 and I opened the box, took it out and left it overnight to come to room temperature. The next day I plugged it in and it was at 23% and began charging. The fan came on and wow, it was fairly loud and it stayed on the entire time it was charging. Eventually reached 100% and went off.

So is this thing kinda loud for everyone or do I have a possibly bad fan?

My eco-flow has a fan that comes on sometimes but it is fairly quiet in comparison.

Hi everyone, I made an unboxing video on the newly released DC to DC Anker Solix smart generator 5500!!

Hi everyone, Fernando here!! This will be my first post in this group!! I have very little experience with gas generators. Im mostly into home back up systems. That being said I recently got the new Anker Solix smart generator 5500 to help charge my 40KWh battery back up system during prolonged power outages. This new generator is fully enclosed and can be started remotely from the Anker app. You can set it to turn off or on automatically depending on the charge level of that you set for the batteries!! The generator is extremely efficient since it has a built in inverter that converts the power it generates into DC so there is no conversion loss when I charge my batteries!! The generator is a tri fuel generator so it can run on gasoline, propane and natural gas!! If you have the time and you would like to check out my video I would greatly appreciate it. If not I will gladly try my best to answer any questions that you may have. Link to my video below 👇

Anker Solix S2000 for refrigerator load shifting

I just bought a couple of Anker S2000 battery packs to do load shifting. I have a small solar setup but I still use power in the evenings (for AC) and overproduce in the morning, and I have time-of-use pricing to deal with as well. So one backup for the big refrigerator, and one for the smaller freezer.

I've got them programmed to charge during the day off-peak when the sun is up and solar power is abundant (about 8am to 4pm), and to run off battery power during the peak hours and overnight (4pm to 8am, around 16 hours).

It's only been a couple of days, but the freezer breezes through the night with ease. The refrigerator (which is huge; 30 cubic feet- we bought it during COVID) runs out of juice after about 14-15 hours, and its S2000 reaches 6% and switches to bypass mode.

I'm calling that mostly a win, so far so good. My theory is that nearly all my power for these units is provided by solar now, except for times when I need AC before 4 pm.

Alternative to Anker Solix C300 dc?

Bought an Anker Solix C300 dc and it wound charge above 5w with 3 of my chargers. After 15 emails jumping through hoops with support where I provided proof of purchase at their request, all the test data, and photos… Anker tech support said it’s probably a cable issue and offered to sell me another cable.

Are effing kidding me?!!’ I’ve tried half a dozen 140-240w pd3.1 cables, including the one that comes with the C300 dc. And told them so. It’s not the cable. The C300 wouldn’t even recognize the 3x 67w chargers on of the box until I updated the firmware. Now it only charges at 5w with these chargers and estimates charging to take over 62hrs!!!

I think I may return it for a return/refund to Amazon and buy something else since this is how I was treated on my first tech support inquiry to Anker.

You can read the details here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnkerSOLIXCommunity/s/xxEdKT6o4D

So, it appears the closest competitor is the EF ECOFLOW TRAIL Plus 300 DC Portable Power Station, 288Wh for a little less money and similar specs.

Loos like the ecoflow has 3x 140w usbc ports vs only 2x 140w ports on the Anker C300.

The 140w usbc ports is useful to me for running Nanlite fc120c and fc-60b cinema COB lights remotely.

Looks like the Ecoflow is a little lighter than the c300 and its handle converts to a charge cable.

The chemistry is different between the two, it I don’t know how significant that is, or which out be better for running LED video/film lights.

Has anyone compared the two? I like the Anker overall, but I don’t like that it appears to be very restrictive on which chargers it’ll work with… that, and the fact Anker support has me jump through all these hoops on a brand new power station, then ultimately punted and blamed the cable, when I’ve tried several high spec cables including their own.

Very off putting and disappointing coming from a company with the reputation that Anker has.

I don’t know if Ecoflow is any better, but I’m now looking for similar specs and pricing for alternatives that aren’t Anker.

Inside unit? NOPE!

I already own a C1000 and when the S2000 got announced and I saw reviews regarding the efficiency, I couldn’t look away. It is being promoted as a Home unit and “fridge” but the amount of power for the size and the weight I had to get it. Yea it sucks that is has no handle and it is not as easy to carry but there are always solutions. This mini solid aluminum cart that weighs like 4 pounds on amazon can hold up to 270lbs works perfectly for me and easy to transport. Been using this for a few days now and could not be happier!

S2000 Case - Fixes a major flaw of the unit

I finally got my x2 Solix S2000 units in - I posted here a few days ago with my issues with fulfillment so I won't revisit that other than to say part of the back and forth with support they offered me an S2000 case for the trouble.

I initially didn't care - thought it was going to be a C2000 case or something, just wanted the units in as I've prepped all of my equipment for these things to replace the multitude of UPS units I have throughout the house.

I'll be buying another one of these cases when they list it on their site - it's fantastic. I can now carry the S2000 with one hand, it's made specifically for the unit and can be 'permanently' installed.

In a rush and the house is a mess, so pardon quality of pics, the poor quality dog tax I had to pay in posting this, and the massive clutter behind the empty shot of the case.

Day one of installing these units they are fantastic - absolutely buries my bluetti's, ecoflows, and pecrons that I use for UPS or emergency power. Extremely well designed unit except for two big items in the 'how could something so well designed have such obvious design flaws' category:

  1. No real handle - this case solves that.

  2. Horrendous fan noise and whine when charging/discharging under load. I thought I had a defunct unit until I found out my second unit sounded the same. I suspect if I bothered to open up the units I could fix this issue with putting a slightly higher grade fan in there and re-seating it.

Cases for C2000 gen2

Hi I just bought a C2000 gen2, and I was curious what others use to carry/protect it (other than the $100 case sold by Anker, which seems expensive). It's my first portable power station, so other tips welcome too. Thanks!

🚨 New E10 feature available 🚨

Hi everyone Fernando here!! Anker recently released a new update in the latest app update for the E10 system when you have the power dock 🙌🏼!! The new feature is called the “power outage report”!!

This new feature gives you a report after every 2+ hour power outage that uses 0.5 KWh of power or more. It provides an in depth overview of how your power dock and third party solar system performed during a power outage!!

Some of my favorite features include a Highlight report that shows everything that your E10 system did leading up to the power outage. A tech overview that shows you how the power dock distributed power during the power outage on a circuit level basis!! It even shows you how much energy the inverters consumed during the power outage!!

This new feature is extremely helpful. It helped me pin point weaknesses in my home back up strategy!! After seeing this new power outage report I came to the conclusion that I really need to invest in more solar panels!! Below I will share a screen recording of my recent power outage report !! Thank you all for reading and watching!! 👆

S2000 Power button not working

I just received it today and plugged it into a wall outlet by itself. Nothing plugged into it. It immediately turned on without using the power button..It's about 65 decibels using a handheld digital sound meter.

Once it was fully charged the loud fan stopped.

The main problem is I cannot power it off using the power button. I can power it off when I pull the plug only.

Updated firmware

Default settings

Shouldn't it turn off with the power button? My little C1000 powers right off/on. I unplugged it, waited a minute and plugged it back in and still cannot power it off. I don't have any mode set, just right out of the box .

Batteries not fully charging last two nights

I’ve had my E10 system with two batteries since May. Every night my batteries would charge to 80% as I have them set to do.

Yesterday I noticed they were just over 50% and today at 61%. Nothing else with my system or house has changed. Any ideas??

Smart Generator 5500 security questions

I’m setting up a Smart Generator 5500, 3 pictures of generator’s bottom shown in this post.

  1. Is the pencil in the “security mount” described in the user manual?
  2. What is the purpose of the 4 silver metal things? I have t found them in the user manual.
  3. Has anyone used the metal things for a more secure outdoor mount points?

Anyone else super frustrated with Anker's pricing and fulfillment antics?

I'm excited to receive my S2000 units at some point this week, but in my research and journey since purchase, there are a lot of criticisms I have outside of the units themselves and directed more at Anker's pricing, marketing and fulfillment.

I bought x2 Anker S2000s on the morning of June 2nd. They still have not arrived. I had to complain to support before getting a 'warehouse error' response, and knowing a friend nearby got their unit and seeing many Redditors and FB peeps get theirs in my area, I don't really believe that answer.

When I bought their x2 package it took me a day to realize that I was overcharged by 60 USD from the advertised price. It took me 3 days to resolve that with support, and during that time, the price went from 60 USD off what I was supposed to be charged to 20 USD off for the pair. Luckily I had a screen snap of the price that was advertised as on one of the rounds of support, but if I hadn't taken that, it very much would have looked like I was being dishonest, which left a bad taste in my mouth. They eventually refunded me the difference (somewhat, I still had to pay for the tax on the higher figure) by saying the 'original price given was a web store error.' Having been involved in fulfillment and web site stores in a prior career, this answer was also very suss.

Their marketing of 'get on a mailing list to receive a coupon on June 2nd' was weird, confusing AF and stupid. It made it sound as if units were shipped on the day, that you were getting a super exclusive deal by signing up to the list by going through Anker Direct, etc. etc. Instead you got an e-mail with a code that worked on Anker Direct and Amazon, with the amazon orders coming WEEKS earlier than the Anker Direct orders. As soon as the 'promo' ended, a number of sites had the same exact deal on Amazon that are still running until end of June.

Finally, and I know this is common with power stations but it's dumb and dishonest AF, is the 'MSRP' price. 1,300 or whatever, a number that Anker doesn't even list on their store page. Instead they list what the 'real' MSRP is, which is 679.... But as of today that number is 699 with a 'discount' of 50 USD. So it's obvious they're just going to adjust numbers with every sale to make the value seem higher.

Again, I know other power station companies pull this stuff, but Anker really is taking the 'shitty experience' crown on fulfillment and pricing. I have not had these issues with Pecron, Bluetti or Ecoflow - and while I think Anker support is superior to those companies in trying to remedy these issues, that I had to go through all this support before having the product in hand means I will probably never buy from Anker Solix Direct again and will be less apt to buy their products in general.

What does this community think, is this a common experience or did I just draw a bad straw?

Anker Solix C2000 Gen 2: Should it be kept between 20-80% charge?

Should an Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2 be kept between 20-80% charge to maintain max battery health and lifespan? If so, doesn't that defeat the purpose of having the maximum 100% power available in the event you need it, such as a power outage?

C1000gen2 Solar Input Voltage?

Having a hard time fully getting if 200w Bifacial rigid panels are within spec for this unit. It certainly looks as though only 1 but even that appears to be outside the amp specs? Mostly confused by the different amps for a given voltage range. It appears panel is too much amps for the lower voltage range?

Anker Solar Input Specs:

MPPT

11-28v8.2A;
29V-60V14.5A
(600W Max)

Panels:

  • Maximum Power at STC (Pmax) 200W
  • Maximum Power Voltage (Vmp) 23.74V
  • Maximum Power Current (Imp) 8.43A
  • Opencircuit Voltage (Voc) 27.31V
  • Shortcircuit Current (Isc) 8.91A

Everfrost 2 battery - missing from order

I have just purchased and received an Everfrost 2 40L as part of the recent prime day promotions. It came with a 60w solar panel and the road trip kit. All rather impressive. However I have received it all and there was no battery included. My order still shows as partially shipped but its not clear what is outstanding as the order was essentially for three items mentioned.

I have reached out to Customer Support and they replied very quickly and confirmed I should have a battery and I should check all the packaging. I confirmed there definitely not one included but they have not yet replied.

Has anyone any experience of this happening? Is the battery shipped separately?

Thanks in anticipation.

Update: Battery has been dispatched and is with Fedex. I have given Anker Customer Support some feedback on their shocking order screen thats not made this whole process any easier by listing all tracking numbers under the free solar panel item or even showing a battery as a separate item on the order screen to know one was to be received still.
