Anker doesn’t have one that can respond to these conditions - but others do.

Unresponsive iPad Touchscreen in Safari

In the latest iOS 27 public beta (don't know where to find beta release info after install), the touchscreen becomes unresponsive within web pages on Safari. I find I have to touch an icon several times to get it to respond and oftentimes it doesn't respond at all. This behavior continues after restart.

Storm Guard: Proof Solix can Receive External Commands

I’ve posted before my disappointment that the Solix app only offers TOU rate control and doesn’t support hourly, dynamic, rate control for my set-up (F3800 w/ Power Panel). However, the Storm Guard feature appears to offer the very control I’m advocating for.

When an external event occurs, such as a Severe Weather Warning for a specific location, Storm Guard takes over control of the battery. The same type of control should be available for individuals on an hourly rate plan. When rates cross a price threshold, the battery should be controlled to charge, discharge or stand by, depending upon the rate.

With Storm Guard, Anker has proven they have this capability.

F3800 Plus and Home Power Panel Experiences

I've had my F3800 Plus for about 6 months and finally had the Home Power Panel installed a little over a week ago. I was perplexed at first as to why the Wifi connect and AC input/output ports on the F3800 no longer worked but a quick back and forth with Anker support confirmed that the Power Panel now controls all of this.

I don't have solar. My primary goal was to be able to Peak Shave: Charge the battery overnight when hourly rates are low and run off battery in the evening when rates are high. Unfortunately, the software that controls my system only supports TOU plans based upon assumptions of when rates are low or high. As a result, I have to manually control much of the operation, using the slider to control battery usage when hourly rates are low or high.

Hoping Anker will add the ability to receive real time rates from major utilities, and make these adjustments automatically.

Finally Out of this Dog

After five years, I'm finally out with a whopping 10% net return over the five year period. Guess I should be grateful I didn't lose money but, still, I consider the Opportunity Cost to be a net loss.

Atmos Clock Repair Advice

I have a 1950s/60s vintage Atmos Clock in need of repair (it has been in storage for 20+ year) and need advice regarding repairs. I'm in the Chicago area but most of the companies I've found online are in PA or MD.

Looking for advice on who to have repair it and expected repair costs. The website for Atmos Clock Repair in White Plaines, MD states a complete overhaul is approximately $350 but, so far, they have been unresponsive to my email and voicemail so I'm not sure if they're still in business.

Time Machine Backup Disk Not Available

Yesterday, I noticed that my computer hasn't been backing up to my Synology NAS via Time Machine. When I try backing up, I get a message stating that the disk is not available. Another computer in the house is still backing up. Only thing different about my computer is that I'm on Apple's Beta program and am using the latest Tahoe 26.6 Beta. I also had recently updated the DSM version to the latest available but that doesn't explain why only my computer is affected.

The disk has 2.8 TB free vs my computer which only has a 1TB drive. I tried unchecking the Shared File quota and also tried setting up a new backup shared folder but get the same result.

Anyone else experiencing this or have any suggestions?

Finally Got My Plug-in RAV4 After 4 Years of Trying!

Plug-in RAV4s have been extremely difficult to get in the Midwest with dealers either only offering them for lease or asking exorbitant prices. It looks like Toyota is finally catching-up with demand.

Now we have two plug-ins with our other car being a BZ4X. The Rav4 will be our road trip car since our 2023 BZ has limited range and slow charge (the newer models are much better).

The estimated range on the PHEV RAV4 is currently 689 miles with full tank of gas and full charge. While I'm sure that will come down with highway driving in the equation, it's impressive nonetheless.

I have a 2021 MBP M1 Max and 2024 iPad Air and have been experiencing noticeable latency when clicking on links within emails and websites. I experience this both from my home network, wired 2.5 Gps/500Mbps modem and from 5G cell networks. believe this started with xOS 26. Curious if anyone else has noticed this?
