Has anyone pushed the limit of the rated inverter output?

For example, the S 2000 is rated 1500 W continuous and 3000 peak. I have a coffee machine that is 1600 W however is not continuous maybe only during pulling the shot or grinding beans.

So in theory, if it spikes to 1600 W power station should be able to handle it but I’m not sure if that 3000 peak is only a few seconds or a couple minutes.

Are there any tests done to these limits?

I love my cast iron for steaks but stainless steel has its place.

I’m pretty sure this is the last 10” stainless steel pan I’ll ever need, unless I lose it.

About the steak it’s a flap meat, great marbling and best for tacos/fajitas. But occasionally I like it as a simple steak.

Dry brine with just salt overnight in the fridge uncovered to draw out moisture (this is makes huge difference between a nice crust and a sautéed steak), no other seasoning until I’m ready to finishing it off to avoid burning.

Heat the pan until Leidenfrost effect as mentioned in this sub. Once reached, add a coat of oil, drop in the steak and ensure to push it down for good contact. Drop the temp to medium and be patient until it unsticks itself around the 2min mark, another 2min on the other side. From there I do 30s each side until preferred temp is reached.

Back up crew doing work.

this shrimp passed and I was in a hurry to leave the house. I was planning to remove it after I get back and after 3hrs it was devoured by my bladder snails. Faster than I thought.

I slowly appreciate these guys more than I want to admit. My tank has been a lot cleaner since having these hitchhikers

Should I split my kid’s 529 and brokerage account?

As titled. Already have 529 account started but thinking maybe I should start a brokerage account for my daughter for extras contributions. Her 529 account is tracking to be $80k by she’s 18 I really don’t want to overfund this account because who knows what the future looks like but I wanted her to have a good chunk to start.

The reason I want to contribute to brokerage over UTMA is because I fear she might blow it once she’s old enough to access with UTMA. At least the brokerage account I have more control and can gift it to her when she’s ready.

Anyone with similar thoughts ?

Duckweed and pest snail is like the ultimate food glitch

I swear there's no way you could get rid of pest snails while having duckweed, they both reproduce in god mode.

Italian restaurant for a birthday celebration.

I did my research and mostly settle on Restaurant Olivia. But wanted to check here if there’s any other better options incase the info I came across is not up to date.

Flexible budget, doesn’t matter if it’s fancy or hole in the wall. I mostly care for the best denver has to offer.

Do you guys use your stove in summer too?

This will be my first time going to camping in the summer with it.

During the day it can be hot but at night usually drops to 30F-45F. While a sleeping bag can easily do it, I really like having a stove going for ambiance and warmth to chill and use it to boil water to top off my hot drinks. Also having my daughter with me I'd like to keep her warm and toasty as much as possible.

I have a pellet stove which is super efficient and I do not need to tend when sleeping.

Japanese maple in container

I plan to place it in my yard facing east that has at least 6hrs of direct morning sun. By 1pm the house shade over. Is that too much sun?

If that’s too much the next best option is my small porch which I can place under the eaves and will shield it from the sun but it will get afternoon indirect sunlight and heat from the concrete/bricks.

The plant is 2-3ft and plan is to keep it in the growing pot for atleast this year so I can bring it inside and then transfer it to a 22” container once it’s large enough to a permanent outdoor tree.

Roller pro is a bit odd to pack, how are you guys packing it (no gear) for travel?

Looking at some packing cubes to get for it but curious what size its best or most efficient use of space.

Yeah it gets a lot of hate for being inefficient but it’s honestly the best method for very compact clay soil and small yard (~400sq ft) I was able to do half of it in 15mins with my 20v dewalt drill with 3/8” bit.

I’ve used those manual aerator tools before and they suck especially on heavy clay soil. As a 170lbs guy I struggled penetrating the soil with my full weight jumping on it and even if you oil the tools plugs still get stuck after a few times.

Decided to try the drill today and it was going through like a hot knife in butter. There were some really bad spots that felt like I’m drilling MDF but it was still easy with the drill. At least I understand why the tool struggled, my soil was hard like a rock.

Those with small yard give it a try especially if the ROI doesn’t make sense to rent a large one from Home Depot. I can literally move through 400sq in 30mins if I was doing the whole lawn.
