New player coming from Mortal Kombat trying to get into Street Fighter 6, and Z inputs feel awful on PS5 d-pad.

The shortcut (forward → down → forward) just does not work—it’s always a fireball. It feels like the game is just reading quarter circles no matter what I do.

I know the “correct” motion is forward → down → down-forward, but even when I try to be clean with it, it still defaults to fireball way more than it should. It doesn’t feel like a timing issue, it feels like the input just isn’t being read right.

Anyone else run into this specifically on PS5 controller? Or is there something weird about how SF6 reads this shortcut that I’m missing?
