I’m 23 years old & In early January, I was signed off work sick, resulting in a move to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), (Which is about a 70% drop in my income). Due to this drastic drop in income, I was unable to maintain my previous rented accommodation and had to leave to avoid accruing substantial debt. (Which I got from a previous relationship). Soon enough I’m not going to be able to pay my bills & direct debits & im worried I am at risk of being homeless. I’ve worked since the age of 15 & this illness was very unexpected, I would do anything to go back.
I am currently staying with family in Wales, but this is a temporary situation that is not sustainable. I have a job in Essex and feel that I’m medically fit to return to work in the very near future However, I am currently unable to take up this employment, or return to work effectively, because I have no secure, permanent accommodation in the area.
I am looking for stable housing that will allow me to re-establish my independence, secure my employment, and begin a permanent, stable life again. But the money is the issue, & finding somewhere to stay until I can get back on my feet. Some/ANY advice is appreciated I feel like I’m in a hole & idk what to do.
