This is so infuriating! there‘s graffiti on 5-6 boulders on the summit + 2 along the trail. I’ve hiked this trail for 15 years and have never seen it this bad. If someone volunteers to clean this up, I’ll pitch in for cleaning supplies.

Huge THANK YOU and shout out to the individual(s) who removed graffiti from the large boulder at the base of the Baldy Bowl. The hiking community appreciates you!!

Trip report Jun 22-26

Here's a quick recap of my adventure filled week at Yosemite. I stayed at Lee Vining for 2 days and Oakhurst 3 days.

Day 1 Cathedral Lake hike - scenery and lake was okay, lots of mosquitos. I would give it 4 stars if the lake had a reflection. 3.5/5

Day 2 Clouds Rest hike from sunrise trailhead - EPIC view from the summit. Looks like Lord of the Rings. 5/5

Day 3 Kayak on Tenaya Lake - beautiful and peaceful. 4.5/5

Rented bicycle from curry village and rode around valley for a few hours. A great way to get around and see the valley. I saw things that I wouldn't have seen on foot or car. 4/5

Day 4 Upper Yosemite Falls to overlook. Tough hike up the 60 switchbacks with great views of the waterfall and Half Dome, but the overlook was disappointing because you can barely see the top of the fall. The narrow stairs and railings got my hopes up. Great view of the valley though. 4/5

Eagle Peak - Amazing, probably the best view so far. Great hike if you don't like crowds. You will probably get the summit to yourself because most people are going to El Capitan. 5/5

Day 5 - Tunnel View and Artist Point - Stunning! I got emotional seeing it. Definitely lives up to the hype. 5/5

Guess where this photo of Half Dome was taken.

I want to see if some of the Yosemite experts in this sub can guess where this photo was taken. You guys seem to know everything! 😀

Parking to launch kayak

Where can I park and launch my kayak in the merced? it seems like all the campground parking is reserved for campers. My kayak is heavy so it’s ideal if parking is close to the launch spot. TIA!

Top picks for Tioga eastside with 3 hrs

What are your top picks of things to see or do with 2-3 hours on Tioga (eastside)?

Looking for great views considering the time limitation. I'm in good shape and able to hike inclines.
