Would WHOOP users buy a metal watch-style band for formal occasions?

I wear a WHOOP every day, but I’ve always felt that the fabric band looks too athletic with business-casual clothes, dates, weddings, and other formal occasions.

I’m exploring the idea of a stainless-steel replacement band that looks more like a traditional watch bracelet, but without adding a watch face. The WHOOP sensor would sit discreetly inside the bracelet so it could continue tracking while looking more appropriate with a nicer outfit.

The initial version would likely be:

  • Silver stainless steel
  • Watch-style removable links
  • Designed to swap on and off quickly
  • Positioned as a premium accessory rather than a cheap replacement strap

I’ve already heard from some users who move their WHOOP to a bicep band or WHOOP Body clothing when dressing formally. However, I’m trying to determine whether that is a meaningful product opportunity or just a minor annoyance.

I’d appreciate honest feedback:

  • Do you think this solves a real problem?
  • What would stop WHOOP users from buying it?
  • Would roughly $70-100 be realistic if it looked and felt like a quality watch bracelet?
  • What would you need to validate before spending money on prototypes?

I’m still at the research stage and not selling anything. Feel free to tear the idea apart. I’d rather find the flaws now.

Does anyone else wish WHOOP made a more aesthetic/metal band?

I wore my WHOOP on a nicer date recently and realized the knit band was the one part of my outfit that still looked very athletic. I like wearing it continuously, so taking it off defeats part of the reason I own one, but it doesn’t always fit with business-casual clothes, weddings, dinners, or a traditional watch.

The LeatherLuxe and Luxe bands are closer, but they still don’t really have the appearance of a proper metal watch bracelet. I’ve been wondering whether something made from stainless-steel links—without a watch face, with the WHOOP sensor integrated as discreetly as possible—would actually solve that problem.

For people who care about watches or how their WHOOP works with an outfit:

  • Does the current band ever bother you when dressing up?
  • Do you change bands, move it to your bicep, hide it, or just wear it anyway?
  • Would a metal watch-bracelet style look better, or would it make WHOOP too heavy and uncomfortable?
  • Has anyone already found a good WHOOP 5.0 option like this?

Might be super knit picky but genuinely curious whether this is a common issue or just something I personally notice.
