I have 4 years of FiveM LEO RP experience, including leadership, department structure, training, discipline, patrol operations, and general command work. I already have SOPs, a roster system, department structure, and a Discord setup ready to go, so I can bring organization to the table from day one.

Now, reading that title, I already know some people are probably going to assume this is about one of two things: either the gender swap, or the fact that this version of Heatwave is lesbian. So I want to make this very clear right from the start: that is not my issue.

I do not have a problem with Heatwave being a woman, and I do not have a problem with her being lesbian. Neither of those things automatically ruin the character, and honestly, neither one really changes the core idea of Heatwave in a meaningful way. A character can be male, female, straight, gay, or anything else and still work perfectly fine as long as the actual foundation of the character is respected. Those details do not bother me because they do not really interfere with what makes Heatwave, Heatwave.

What I do have an issue with is the way they changed her weapons and overall concept.

Heatwave, at the most basic level, is usually a person with a flamethrower-style weapon. That is the whole appeal. They are not supposed to be overly complicated. They are not supposed to need some massive rework or an entirely different gimmick to be interesting. Heatwave is dangerous because the concept is simple: a person with a weapon that shoots fire. That alone already gives you so much room to work with.

They could have done a lot with that basic idea. They could have made the weapon more advanced, more intimidating, more tactical, or more visually unique while still keeping the core concept intact. They could have explored how she uses fire differently, how she fights, how she controls space, how dangerous she is in close quarters, or how terrifying someone with a proper flame weapon would actually be. There was plenty of room to modernize the character without completely changing what made the character recognizable in the first place.

That is where my problem comes in. It feels like they looked at a simple but effective concept and decided it needed to be changed just for the sake of changing it. Heatwave does not need to be reinvented into something unrecognizable. The character just needs to be handled well. Sometimes simplicity is the entire point. A character with a fire gun may sound basic on paper, but with good writing, good design, and creative action scenes, that can still be incredibly cool.

I have loads of experience, MLOS, EUPS, and documents already ready to go! I just want to help a server grow and do what I can to help (NA Timezone)
