My quail is losing feathers all around his neck and routinely coughing like something is stuck in his throat at night around the same time

At first I thought that maybe it was another one of my quails, however all of my quails are actually quite calm he is the strongest male and only every hangs around calm females to keep him calm. So that rules out if he is getting attacked or not ( I have been keeping a close eye) Additionally, I never stress him out and he is always spoiled.

Another thing to mention is that I would go check up on them and the first time I heard this happened I thought he was choking and dying. I checked up on him afterwards and there was nothing wrong he was even crowing. The next day I went out around the same time and there it was again. He is eating, drinking, walking, and doing everything pretty fine. However I'm not sure how to help him, this has never happened to me in all my time of owning.

Additionally there is this clicking noise I hear occasionally from him, not often but occasionally. ALSO the bedding is not dusty at all, the only thing dusty would be the sand bath I have in the corner for them. So I'm pretty confused. Please give me some advice!

Any tips of making quails really happy?

I already dust bathe them daily and I've been experimenting with toys which have made them very curious (you should see their face 🤣)

Male noises?

One of my males randomly started to make a very quick but loud noise, at first I thought it was me or it was nothing. However one time I was just looking over and that noise came out. It sounded as if you were moving metal for a split second. This is the first time I ever heard a noise like this come out of a quail and I have owned it for a while now. I know he isn't calling or alerting because it sounds way different. Does this happen to anyone else? Is this normal?

Male quail issue

I'm currently in a tight time schedule where I have to put all my quails (there are less than 10) in a cage together so I can transport them to another place for a couple days, my quails all get along except the males which I just used a wall with holes so that the male wouldn't stress however I left my other male with the females and he sees the other male through the wall with holes so he gets jumpy and starts running and aggressively mating with the females. This is stressing out my girls and I don't have much space in the cage to separate the two males we equally. This can get into a bloody mess if I leave the males together.

This cage is about 50 inches long and is only a temporary cage. Please send some advice!
