Im giving my handmade guide for the French Way
Hi everyone!
A few years ago I walked my first Camino de Santiago and created a small handmade guide for myself with:
- stage maps,
- distances and difficulty,
- villages between stops,
- places to eat and sleep,
- and little recommendations I found along the way.

Right now we’re researching how pilgrims experience the Camino today and I’d really love your opinion.
I’m thinking about updating this guide and sharing it for free, but I keep asking myself:
What would actually make a Camino guide truly useful or memorable for you?
Would you care more about:
- practical recommendations,
- cultural stories and legends,
- hidden places,
- emotional moments,
- pilgrim anecdotes,
- food and accommodation tips,
- or something more interactive/fun?
And another honest question:
Do you think younger pilgrims experience the Camino differently today because of phones, social media and technology?
Not trying to sell anything here — I’m genuinely trying to understand what people value most about the Camino experience nowadays 🙂
Would love to hear your thoughts.
