Travel after Aliyah

Hi! I made Aliyah in November and haven’t left the country since. I’m flying to New York to visit family at the end of August. I don’t have my passport yet so I’ll be using my American passport and I’ll be coming back before the end of September so I’ll be using my teudat zehut to enter Israel. Has anyone done that before? What was the process like when you entered Israel? Did you go through the international side or the Israeli side? Thank you in advance, any advice is welcome :)

Santorini vs Mykonos

Hi all! My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon for September next year. We are doing Athens -> Milos -> Naxos. Given the proximity of Naxos to Santorini and Mykonos plus Naxos airport doesn’t have flights to where we live, we were considering doing one more island and flying home from there. Santorini and Mykonos are a tourists dream and it’s our first time in Greece so I am weighing which island is more worth it to stay in for 2-3 nights before flying home. It would be the last week of September if that makes a difference. What are your experiences and let me know please if it’s worth it or if we should just do a connecting flight out of Naxos. Thanks!

Naxos vs Crete

Hi! My fiance and I have chosen Greece for our honeymoon. We want to do Athens to Milos to a third island.

Originally I wanted to do Crete but after hearing other people’s experiences on the island, I’m considering something else, like Naxos.

We want the final leg of our honeymoon to be romantic. In a resort where we don’t have to worry about things and can stay there all day if we choose to. Maybe something private but affordable. But also have options for other activities like sightseeing, taking a boat tour, or maybe a cooking class. Crete has beautiful resorts but most are out of our budget. So I wanted to know how Naxos compares? I saw someone say that they had a romantic vacation in Naxos which made me consider it over Crete.

Any suggestions are appreciated🙏

Makeup/Hair Vendor Advice

Hey everyone :)

I am getting married in June and am looking into booking my hair and makeup person now. I’ve been looking and I see that some people do both and some just do one.

I’m conflicted now. I originally wanted one person to do both my hair and makeup. I just thought it would be more convenient plus I want to pay for the person to stay with me and do a touch up later in the day. But looking on the other hand, doing one person for makeup and a separate person for hair could be good because they are each experts in their field and I could pick the makeup look I want and the hair look I want and not expect one person to be able to do both perfectly.

I just wanted to hear what you did or what you recommend. I’m so conflicted. Thank you!

Honeymoon in Crete Recommendations

My fiance and I are getting married next year and we want to do Greece for our honeymoon. We will be there in September 2027. We already figured out that we will do Athens, Milos, and Crete.

Athens and Milos I figured out but Crete is harder for me. There’s just so many options it’s a bit overwhelming. I read a lot that Chania and in general the west side of the island is the place to be. However, my fiance and I want this to be our resort honeymoon phase of the trip where we mostly lounge and do the pool and the beach with minimal excursions to see Crete. We will leave the resort but the point is to be relaxing and enjoying each others company.

I’m torn though because a lot of the hotels are very expensive. Air bnbs seem great and love that it would be just the two of us but then we would need to buy our own food and drinks where at a hotel we can buy a breakfast and drink option ahead of time. I heard that the food in Crete is better than at the resorts so I’m ok skipping the all-inclusive package but we still want that luxurious room and some privacy.

Any tips or recommendations would be great! We are on a tighter budget and want to keep the trip in Crete to about 10 days at the end of September. We don’t mind paying a bit more if it’s worth it.

Or maybe there’s another island we can go to instead that fits our trip which is cheaper maybe?

Anything would help really, thanks!
