14 month old - speech development
Hi everyone. My just-turned 14 month old boy is good at repeating words. He repeats the exact tone and some syllables in the word he hears. He also points to objects when asked where something is at. For example, when asked where is tree or where is bird, he will point to the backyard or at the sky. He also babbles a lot and makes many “oo” or “aa” sounds when pointing at things. However, I feel he does not say words with intention. For example, he can say mama papa but he does not look at mom/dad and call out to us. We read a lot of books and talk to him all day. Is this normal or is he behind? What should I do to ensure he speaks with intention?
