I’m currently just under 300 hours of CI and will be going to Mexico in January and really want to improve my speaking skills. I already converse with my barber as much as I can in Spanish. By that time I’ll be close to 600 hours of CI, has anyone done courses like Lingoda or base lang? I’ve done a few Italki classes with a tutor but I’m not sure how to feel about it. I want to turbo charge my speaking but not sure where to continue. Lmk is anyone has any suggestions. Gracias a todos!

Feel confident enough in my comprehension ability to listen to some content I’m actually interested in. My question is whether listening to English speaking YouTube videos dubbed to Spanish on YouTube is worth it? From what I could find it’s only about 75-85% correct with the actual translations so I’m not sure if it’s even worth it? Lmk what yall think.

Long story short I thought I was having starter issues, my e46 would at random decide to not crank at all. I bypassed this by getting a portable jump starter and that allowed me to start the car, but it usually took a few tries to start the car. So, I replaced the starter yesterday and still no crank then I replaced the battery today and still no crank. I’m at a complete loss of what to do.. lmk what you guys think..

(24m) I’ve been working for FedEx as a driver for the almost 3 years. The job isn’t too bad though, the benefits, hours, and money are all pretty good. Lately I’ve just been feeling very stagnant, I don’t want to continue doing the same thing for the rest of my career but I don’t know where to even start looking. I’ve been considering going back to college but I would only be able to go part time and the degree I’m looking at (civil engineering) would be around 4 years, but realistically 5-6 because I’d have to go part time. I don’t feel it’s worth it to find another job because I’m not going to find anything that has as good of hours and makes the same amount of money. Anyone have any recommendations? I’d be open to literally anything point, just feel like I need to get out of my current job.

I’m looking at getting a workbook to continue my learning. I’m already at a high A2/ low B1 level, and I’ve been looking at 2 different workbooks. “Complete Spanish step by step” and “the ultimate Spanish review and practice”, which one of these would you guys recommend for my level? I’ve done 3 lessons on italki with the same tutor, we get along well and I feel like our lessons are productive. Ive noticed my tutor constantly wont except my lesson requests that are within their availability. It’s happened 3 times and to me thats 3 lessons I’ve missed out on.. I would prefer to do 2-3 one hour lessons a week but they either get denied or expired. Anyone had experience with this? Idk if I’m overreacting and should find a new tutor or not..

Been having this problem for a while, when it’s hot outside (I live in a super hot city) my ac compressor won’t kick on or engage at all. But when it’s cooler outside when I’m driving to work in the morning it works perfectly fine. I’m guessing it’s maybe the compressor clutch gap?? If anyone has any advice lmk. Thanks.

I’ll be doing a language exchange with someone tonight that I met on Reddit. I’ve been talking back and forth with him and he seems cool. I’m around a High A2 close to B1 level and he’s also A2-B1 in English, does anyone have any tips for me? We already decided on talking 15 mins in English and 15 mins in Spanish and we also decided we’re going to talk about specific topics when we converse. Does anyone have any tips for me?

Recently went on a trip (yes I slacked off and didn’t get any CI in for 4 days..) but I ordered from a taco truck in Spanish. I was super nervous because this was my first time speaking in Spanish in public but I figured I’d go for it. I ordered perfectly fine and when they asked me if everything on the tacos were fine my brain automatically understood what he asked and I was able to respond with 0 problems! Sorry for the boring story but I was really proud of myself lol. Gracias a todos!

I’ve been learning Spanish for around 2ish months and I’ve been wanting to start journaling. I’m around a high beginner/ low intermediate, I don’t feel confident enough in my vocab and sentence structure to actually journey though. My question is should I just start with simple things and translate them to make sure they’re correct or should I avoid looking up the translations?

Just hit 50 hours on CI! I reached the 50 hours in just under 12 days, I mainly listen to “cuéntame” for around 3-4 hours a day. I already have a little bit of experience with Spanish so I’ve been listening to cuéntame since day 1 of my CI journey. I set a goal to listen/watch 5 hours a day of CI just because I drive trucks for work so I have a lot of listening time. Does anyone else have any podcast recommendations for a high beginner/low intermediate? Looking forward to hitting level 3 within a month or so! Excited to continue this journey, gracias a todos!!

Im around 45 hours of CI so far, I’ve already had some experience in the language before starting DS (ie. 60 Pimsleur lessons and completed language transfer Spanish) Lately I’ve been having to watch the beginner videos on 1.5x or 2x speed just so I don’t get bored. I would say my comprehension is 95% and above and it’s pretty rare I don’t know a word. Would y’all recommend I start watching intermediate videos or just continue watching beginner vids at 1.5x or 2x speed?

I’ve been learning for a few months now, I’ve done a good amount of speaking practice and I constantly talk to myself in Spanish. But, when I’m in public and want to use my Spanish with people i just get mental block and end up just speaking English. Anyone have any tips for getting over the fear of actually using your Spanish in public?

Had my brake light and taillight stop working. I thought it was the bulb and replaced both still didn’t work. I also snipped the ground wire and used a female slide on terminal and grounded it to a piece of metal inside the housing. Still nothing as far are brake and tail light but the rear blinker does come on… anyone know what else it could be?
