SLOE from new residency
I am an international medical student from the UK who wants to apply for Emergency Medicine in the upcoming Match. I have had a very difficult time finding a rotation that would enable me to get an eSLOE in the US. I have now found an agency offering one, which is supposed to be with an associated program director of a new residency program in the Midwest and can lead to an eSLOE. I am a bit skeptical as it is not offered through an official hospital channel and it seems to be more about following the particular attending in a variety of hospitals rather than actually working within the wider team/residents in a particular location. It is also expensive and as I said they are a new program that seems to mostly take Caribbean graduates. I have UK-based doctors I can get SLOEs from, who oversee residents in academic hospitals. Do you think this rotation is worth it?
