Hi!!

I came home tonight and realized my guinea piggie was making a weird sound. I thought maybe he had food go down the wrong way so I kept an eye on him to see if the sound returned.

Unfortunately it did. It’s a hooting sound. I’ve read it could be a URI. I gave him some critical care and vitamin c (bell pepper).

I also stood by the shower with him for a little bit to help loosen up congestion.

There are no exotic vets close to me. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Hi. I think my guinea pig (4 y/o male) may have an URI. I’ve noticed him sneezing/coughing sometimes. I haven’t given him any hay for a few days because I thought it was just the hay dust messing with him.

I have been giving lots of vitamin c and doing shower steams. I can’t afford the vet or else I would go (I know that’s bad piggie parenting but I’m poor). Is there any advice that you could give that may help my sweet boy?

I have bought critical care and have been giving it to him. His appetite seems to be up since he’s had the critical care. Should I also keep giving him that?
