What questions should/could I ask when trying to learn about other religions?
I am extremely curious person who has always had a particular interest in learning about other religions. I decided that instead of just wanting to learn about it that I actually will. I do not believe that questions and conversations about others religions and practices should be a fight between two people, I believe it should be a moment of mutual understanding and respect.
So I have taken it upon myself to try and learn about and interview people about their religion. Why they practice it, what it provides them, what their core beliefs are, etc. I am not looking for a debate, I am looking for knowledge and people willing to share theirs.
I personally believe that speaking with the people who actually practice will give me more of what I am looking for than anything google can give me. People are more than statistics and studies and that their voices need to be heard as well.
What are questions I could ask that could give me this detailed understanding? The last thing I want to do is come off as condescending to any of the people I talk with. I want it to be a place of genuine conversation and I want the people I speak with to not feel like I am judging or condemning them.
