OK, we’re getting into it. So I’ve got an NL 67 Nanoleaf essentials bulb from like 2024. I want to put dynamic scenes on it, but not in the Nanoleaf app, like in the home app. But how do I do that? That’s the thing. It doesn’t expose shortcuts. It doesn’t expose the scene engine. It just doesn’t work. And that’s the thing too. Like, I could try running home assistant, but I don’t even think it works with the NL 67. I highly doubt it

Like, seriously, even people who have matter over thread essentials bulbs have been asking Nelle if nonstop, hey, gave us dynamic lighting that can be exposed to HomeKit, but they haven’t done anything about it. Like, is there any workaround? That’s the thing. You may say something like, just use home assistant. It does not work with the NL 67. I checked. Plus, I’m not about to reinstall a whole OS on my PC just to put a dynamic scene on one bulb. That’s ridiculous

So the underlying question is, like, can I work around that? or am I just stuck to static scenes because when I try doing it with group scenes, it just freezes on one color and just stays there? Trust me, I’ve tried this before. I had another essentials blob, but that one I had to put that one away because I got rid of the lamp that was housing the second one and I didn’t really have anywhere else to put it, so I just saved it just in case of my first one died. But back to the underlying topic, I tried doing this with the group scenes work around, yeah, that did not work. It just froze on the same color it was, so say if I wanted to do, I don’t know, northern lights and then I put that as a group scene and then upload it to HomeKit instead of staying on instead of switching to Aurora Magic or northern lights, it just stayed on Aqua or red or blue or whatever

Any work around around it? Can I use a PC as a matter controller? Can I download an app that does anything that’s like the underlying issue? I tried looking everywhere, but the same solutions popped up. Use home assistant. It doesn’t work. Use Nanoleaf animations. Oh yeah, it says unsupported when I tried doing that or just use the paid app that expose Siri shortcuts. I’m not about to pay a subscription just to get something that should be free. So yeah, if I knew if you had any workarounds, I need it because seriously, who wants static boring home kit scenes like no offense to those who prefer those, but like I want some personality

So I’ve been noticing that Microsoft is shoving Copilot down everybody’s throat, whether they like it or not, and I’m just sick of it. Not just that, I’m using an external monitor because somebody destroyed my laptop screen. It’s not like wrecked, but the LCD panel, yeah, that’s a no-go, but that side, here’s one problem. There are ads showing up at the bottom right corner of my screen about something dumb like Yahoo, if anybody even uses that anymore

How to get rid of it, because I swear I hate those ads that pop up everywhere, and it’s not just the ads, it’s the copilot obsession. I swear Microsoft put copilot an edge, they put copilot in notepad, they put copilot in Word maybe. What’s next, copilot on the desktop, copilot on the start menu, and before all of you start saying switch to Linux, switch to Linux, I’m not that kind of person who’s perfect at switching to another operating system because do you do you know how many distros there are? I swear Ubuntu mint I can’t count all of

M look, is Microsoft getting greedy or something? If you all know how to turn it off, like co-pilot, so that it doesn’t pop up everywhere, this is like Google’s AI mode. It, it’s intrusive. it’s annoying, and it doesn’t let you browse because whenever you search up something, there’s always that little pop-up that says you do better with AI mode. Okay, I didn’t ask

Now back to the main problem: how the hell do I get rid of those ads that pop up on the top right, sorry, bottom right corner of my screen, and my monitor is definitely not LG because they’ve been secretly downloading adware onto your computer. If you guys know about that, is it a companion app MSI has or what

As somebody who plays half-life, I kind of wonder, where did the Vox voice go, and I did some digging and turns out that is not the name of the engine. Vox is just what valve calls it. I don’t know what it means, but they just say Vox or BMS, but the engine that was used was Lucent Technologies or Bell Labs TTS

M it was from like the 1990s. Correct me if I’m wrong, but like I’m saying, I don’t know how to get it. I could recover the game files, but I wanna use the voice in general because I’ve seen people on YouTube and other game projects use it in their videos, and I’m just curious, like how do I get that exact voice? Do they use a website like voxvoice.com? I don’t correct me if I’m wrong on that, or do they just get a fan project that used FlexTalk or mimicked it because you can’t mimic Vox on 11 labs anymore, and I don’t think the AI generator will even let you do that

I’m pretty sure the voice was called something like big man or Keith Bell. If any of you know anybody who has developed any projects that uses the same voice or if you actively work on a GitHub project that you uses the old engine, please let me know because like, seriously, I wanna use it, you know, play around with it experiment, but too bad like Bell Labs or Lucent technologies got rid of it, and I don’t think there’s a legacy system where they have the original voice, plus nowadays voices sound more natural and human, but I want that robotic announce Pennsylvania announcer voice. I mean, I could just use something like Matthew on Amazon Polly, but even then I’m still curious how do people access that voice to this date? So if you have a way to access it, let me know.
