just grabbed an 88% wool smartwool tshirt from rei and went on an out and back trip. got pretty sweaty and realized that the smartwool is now all fuzzy and pilled up. haven’t even washed it yet. worth returning is this just something that happens to sweaty wool?

I'm considering doing my first multi-day backpacking trip in Vermont on the Bourn Pond - Stratton Pond Loop (https://intothebackcountryguides.com/trail-guides/bourn-pond-stratton-pond-loop-backpacking-guide) this memorial day. I've done a couple overnights so I'm not too worried about surviving or anything like that, but I'm curious about how crowded these sorts of trails get during long weekends. Should I expect to see a lot of people?
