Is there anyone who works at REI, what was the application and interview and higher process like, was it pretty smooth and straight forward or was it different and have you been happy with your employment, how would you rate REI as an employer overall?
My local REI has the Westward 4 tent up for display, but it is not available to buy in-store or online at the moment. Does anyone know if the 4 or the 6 will be available again soon...? I can't really even find the listing for it on their website, but I was searching for a new tent and think this one is perfect for me. Also I tried looking secondhand and at some resupply but didn't have any luck. Bummed out about it, and don't like the North Face Wawona. If you have any info on it then i'd appreciate it. Hello! I recently got the REI Mastercard and have been using it without issue on non-REI purchases. In the Capital One App, it says I've racked up about $28 in REI Card Rewards, and that I can use them online.
But when I go to shop online, I don't see a way to apply that $28 to my purchase. I see that I have about $3 in member rewards that are applied, and I've put in my REI Mastercard as the payment option to see if that would trigger anything, but it doesn't seem like there's a place to input the amount.
When I go to the help section about the card, it just says to shop online to redeem, and when I go to open the chat for help, it just closes the chat window and won't re-open (perhaps because today is a US Federal Holiday).
Anyone have experience applying their REI Mastercard rewards to online purchases?
I'm just getting started with backpacking and have been trying to find as many deals as I can so that I'm not overspending right out of the gate. My girlfriend and I drove a couple hours up the interstate to hit a couple of stores and scored a few deals. She wants to tag along on shorter trips during warmer weather and needed a pack and a sleeping bag. I've been eyeballing the NeoLoft and was about to pull the trigger on a new one. I feel like we both scored great deals. Her pack shows almost no wear and we can't find any stains on her sleeping bag, let alone heavy ones. I inflated the NeoLoft in the store and laid on it for nearly ten minutes with no issues.
Closest match I got is an REI ruckpack 40 but it’s not an exact match. So maybe if somebody knows the exact year his was made and what the color of it is could be a big help.

Trying to pre order the alpha direct screeline hoody. It shows I can get it shipped to me directly by July 17 or to store by July 14. I would want it by the 14th for a backpacking trip.
Issue is when I go to check out, if I order for store pickup, it removes the item from my cart and says it’s no longer available. If I check out with it shipping to me, it lets me proceed.
Any idea why this is? Would a physical store or CS over the phone be able to help with this?
Trying to figure out if it’s an app glitch or the inventory for ship to store is actually depleted (tho can’t think why that would be bc I’ve replicated the issue with a variety of colors and sizes, and tried both men’s and women’s).

So I received this email today from the REI Union and I first want to state I fully support the workers and their rights. I also hope they get most of their demands. However this email just left a bad taste in my mouth and seemed pretty low bar and a pretty way to hurt REI without helping the workers in anyway. Not sure how this will further the union and workers goals in any helpful way.
The stitches under my arm started to come undone and was told to take it up with Arcteryx and that it wasn’t eligible. Is this a new policy? Yes I’m a member, jacket is 6 months old. Thanks!
Does anyone know if the men's Flash Hoodie in the large tall size will be restocked anytime soon? I sent a couple emails to customer service over the past month and haven't heard back.
Tried chatting with customer service and they directed me to call. So I did and they said they'd follow back up with me but that was over a week ago.

What is stopping me from buying something intending to return it so my gf can go to the resupply to buy it on discount. To be clear I have not and do not intend on doing this but I just thought about it.

I know I can use weight plates, water bottles, even bags of rice or cat food, lol...However, where do those of you who work at REI get those weighted bean bags? Are they sand bags or just bean bags?
For convenience and comfort, I was looking to get 20lbs of these to throw in my pack when I do the stairclimber and incline treadmill at the gym.

tiny little adhesive patch and its all good. i didn’t have any good jackets for cold weather hiking yet so getting this for 40 bucks was really nice for me. for years my winter jacket situation was a hoodie under a leather jacket or an oversized military field jacket which both are heavy and i get sweaty as fuck in that so this will be nice to have this winter.
