Got hit with a Section 3 suspension after using a "ranking service" — warning to all new sellers, these campaigns can kill your account
Long post, but please read if you're a new seller thinking about using any third-party launch/ranking service. This could save your account.
What happened to me:
I launched a product on Amazon and, like most new sellers, struggled with visibility. I ended up paying for what's commonly called a "search-find-buy" or "ranking campaign" — basically, a service where real or fake buyers search your keyword, find your listing, and purchase to boost your organic rank. Sounds harmless, right? It's literally everywhere in FBA communities and Facebook groups. These services promise you page 1, guaranteed sales velocity, organic rank boosts — the whole pitch.
My account got suspended under Section 3 — Amazon's nuclear option. The suspension cited fraudulent, deceptive, and illegal activity. Not a performance suspension. Not a policy warning. Section 3. That means Amazon is essentially saying they no longer trust you as a seller at a fundamental level.
The service I used:
I came across a company called AZ Rank (www.azrank.com/solutions) that markets itself as an SEO and ranking solution for Amazon brands. Slick website, professional pitch, sounds legit. I'm not the only one who falls for these — they advertise openly on LinkedIn, they have "case studies," they make it sound like standard practice.
It is NOT standard practice. It is a violation of Amazon's terms of service, and Amazon has gotten very aggressive about detecting it.
What these services actually do:
They coordinate manipulated purchases to artificially inflate your sales rank and keyword relevance. Amazon's algorithms and internal fraud detection flag this as:
- Artificial manipulation of search results
- Review/sales manipulation
- Deceptive practices toward buyers and Amazon itself
All of which fall squarely under Section 3 of the Amazon Business Solutions Agreement — the clause that lets Amazon terminate your account permanently with almost no recourse.
The hard truth nobody tells you:
These services don't care about your account. They take your money, run the campaign, and disappear. When Amazon suspends you, they're nowhere to be found. You're left holding the bag with stranded FBA inventory, frozen disbursements, and an appeal process that feels like screaming into a void.
My ask to this community:
Has anyone successfully recovered from a Section 3 suspension? Not a performance suspension — specifically Section 3 / fraudulent or deceptive activity. Is this a death sentence, or is there a real path back?
Also — what did your appeal look like? Did you use a third-party appeal service? Did you go through the video verification process? Any genuine advice is appreciated.
TL;DR: Used a search-find-buy ranking service, got suspended under Section 3 for fraudulent/deceptive activity. These "launch services" are a scam that can permanently end your seller account. Do not trust any third party that promises you guaranteed rank or sales velocity through coordinated buyer campaigns. It's not worth it.
