Advice
I’m planning to apply to UCD Medicine in Dublin and had a few questions, so if anyone could help me out, I’d really appreciate it. I’ve heard that the SAT isn’t required for UCD Medicine and that it’s test-optional, but a few of my friends from the Class of 2026 applied, and the people who were accepted wrote the SAT. I didn’t give myself much time to prepare because I have some other things going on right now, so I’d prefer not to take it, but if it makes a significant difference to my application, I’ll try my best to study for a week straight.
A friend of mine also told me that the SAT is mainly useful if you have average grades or are barely meeting the academic requirements. I’ve checked and I’m confident that I’m okay academically, but I still wanted to ask: does the SAT make a significant difference for UCD Medicine? And if not the SAT, what do you think made the biggest difference in your application? I’m confident in my GPA and my ability to write a good essay. My extracurriculars are decent—mostly volunteering and some research, nothing crazy—but I’d still like to know what I could do to strengthen my application. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Also, if it isn’t too much to ask, do you regret going to UCD?
